Community Options

Colorado State University offers a variety of Learning Communities for students to choose from. Each community supports your academic success, whether through connections to specific colleges and departments or by taking classes together with other students. We encourage you to explore all the options and find the community that feels like the best fit for you. Many Learning Communities also have their own websites where you can learn more about what they offer and what life in that community is like.

Which Community is Right for You?

First-Year Students

First Year
As a part of the College of Agricultural Science (CAS), students will register for a 2-credit seminar that examines the philosophical and historical foundations of agriculture, complemented by case study exploration of agricultural leaders and their practices.

Transfer Students
Biomedical Sciences and Neuroscience undergraduate students come together to cultivate an inclusive community of scientists committed to improving the health of animals, people, and the planet.
Amplify
First Year
Located in Pinon Hall, Laurel Village, students with College of Natural Sciences majors live, learn, and grow together in Amplify. Through our residential and academic experiences, our students come together in a community that amplifies their individual voices.

Located in Academic Village and Edwards Hall, Engineering majors of this community can take advantage of academic assistance, mentorship, events, student organization meetings, and tutoring.
Health & Exercise Sciene
First Year
In the Health & Exercise Science (HES) Residential Learning Community, you will live with other students who are taking the same courses, have similar career goals, and with students that are often vested in living active and healthy lifestyles.
University Honors Program

The Honors Residential Learning Community (HRLC) offers incoming Honors students an opportunity to connect with the Honors program and live with students who share their interests.

The Key Communities are learning communities for first year students designed to honor the strengths of each student to foster students’ transition to and through the University.

In Vida, life and learning come together. Students in the College of Liberal Arts and Exploratory Studies join a vibrant community where curiosity thrives and connections matter. CLA students will also be considered for the Boost Scholarship.

Warner Residential Learning Communities (RLCs) support students’ leadership development in natural resources, sustainability, and outdoor leadership.

Transfer Students

If you are a transfer student interested in any of the communities listed above, contact the specific community to determine if it is a good fit for you. Many of the communities can accommodate transfer students. CSU also offers Transfer Residential Communities in Laurel Village and Summit Hall specifically for transfer students.
